My Story
I used to work a 9 to 5 as a Digital Marketing Manager until my most recent business generated enough profit to give me the freedom to work from home, spend more time with my wife and avoiding the LA commute. I have always had a genuine passion for web and marketing. It all started in the fourth grade when I coded my first website in HTML and since then, I have worked for numerous companies and launched several online businesses.
YAN 411 is my way of giving back to the community by sharing my diverse technical knowledge spanning across the disciplines of design, user experience, web development, systems administration—and most importantly, digital marketing and the channels within including search engine optimization, paid search, display advertising and email marketing.

2014 Digital Marketing Jobs
After I closed my web design business, I returned to corporate America with a 9 to 5. I worked at TOMS and at a media start up in Santa Monica, California doing digital marketing including email marketing, SEO, and PPC. -
2010 Mini Sites
I ran a network of 50 miniature websites. These were 5 to 10 page websites built around a keyword niche, monetized through Google Adsense and Amazon Associates. These mini sites relied on Google's old search algorithm so when they changed their algorithm, these came to an end. -
2007 Web Proxies
Around the time I founded my high school's computer club and worked for a web hosting company, I founded a network of web based proxies to help students surf the web safely and anonymously. I collocated servers at a datacenter in Downtown Los Angeles, and this helped hone my skillsets in systems administration. -

2000 Dragon Ball Z Fansite
I founded a fansite for a TV show called Dragon Ball Z. I ran it for 5 years and this was the playing ground that built the foundation of for technical skillsets including design, programming and systems administration—after getting hacked countless times. It received over 10,000 unique visitors per day at the peak.
I interviewed the show's voice actors, and I worked with the publicist at FUNimation, the company that owns the licenses in the United States for the franchise, recieving exclusive news before it was public. Oftentimes, my website would outrank the official website for related search terms around the show on Google. -
1998 HTML for the First Time
I was 9 years old in the fourth grade, and my teacher gave us the project of coding a website from scratch using HTML. It was ridiculously difficult. After the project, I revisited coding and although challenging, I found it enjoyable and decided that I want to pursue a career with websites.
